Soda cans are everywhere. What could you do with big bags of them? You can melt them down, transform to ingot. An ingot is a material, usually metal, that is cast into a shape suitable for further processing.
But melting down aluminum isn’t a simple matter of sticking cans in a hot pot. You need a special furnace that can generate very high heat, and doing it in the kitchen is asking for trouble with potential fumes. Build a furnace outdoors – with a hairdryer! Very cheap to make, and it’s a lot of fun!

I made one out of plaster of Paris and sand. I don’t think it is very durable. I think this is a better way to go if you have a fire pit

Better check your scrap yards first. Most won’t buy ingots because they have lost identity as to what allow it is. Also, it’s pretty dangerous for a novice.
